What is the name of your state? CA
Here's my situation:
I answered to a magazine advertisement. Here is what the ad. says: "Get your 8 free issues of (MAGAZINE NAME) with no obligation to buy. If you like it, you will receive one year (51 issues in all) for only $19.99 – that's 84% off the cover price. If you're not satisfied, return your invoice marked "cancel" and owe nothing!"
I gave my credit card number and verified it, thinking it was part of the process, and that I was not going to get billed until I notified them that I was satisfied with the issues. To my suprise, I was billed that month. I contacted the magazine, and they said the 8 "free" issues were trial issues based on credit terms (to be paid later). Isn't this false advertising, and/or a bad fault of the magazine company???
If I knew the magazine company's "trial" policy, I never would have answered the ad. I want my money back! Is there a way I can get my money back, or can I actually file a suit and win?
