I purchase a satellite dish system from a California merchant. (I live in Florida, by the way.) I later rec'd in the mail invoices charging me $750.00, allegedly due to
breach of contract. They maintain that I did not activate
my system within the "approximate 14-day period" stipulated
in the sales agreement.

I took 18 days to activate my system due to an illness in
the family. Since the invoice says "..approximately 14
days...", does the merchant have an enforceable contract?
(Please note that the invoice has sixteen instances of this
phrase.)

In my own opinion, "approximate" changes the picture considerably,i.e., fails to specify exact period of time, etc.

Thanks to anyone who can render opinions on this.
