I'm in Maryland. I purchased a puppy from a pet store. It was covered by a 2 year warranty. The puppy died in 12 days. The puppy got injured after the purchase. An autopsy was performed and the vet could not link the injury to the cause of death. The cause of death has been documented as unknown. The warranty states that the pet store needs to be provided with the cause of death. Will the injury negate the warranty? And will the fact that the cause of death is unknown negate the warranty?:(

Without reviewing the actual text of the warranty, it is not possible to give a definitive answer. However, the warranty apparently makes no requirement that the cause of death actually be determined, just that the cause be provided. In this case, you can only provide that the cause is unknown.

Also, your post mentions that the puppy was injured but not the extent of injuries. Obviously, if the 'injury' was an uninfected scratch, it should affect the warranty. However, if it was a severe injury, it could affect their acceptance of the warranty provision.

Send them the paperwork, make your claim and see what they say.
