i purchased a refrigerator brand new from a large retail store. i bought it in 1998. however, a couple of months ago i had it serviced because it was not working properly(it was not cold). a repair man came out and fixed it. however, about two months ago the same thing happened. we had another repair man come out and he recomended that we buy a new one or to call the manufacturer. when we did call the manufacturer they told us that the warranty was expired. is this true under the "implied warranty of merchantability"? how many years do i have before this warranty expires? how can i get them to pay for the repair?

thank you so much,

carlos batres
