In 2000 I hired a lawyer for a DUI charge. We agreed on $1000 flat fee, I paid a $500 retainer and then paid two payments of $250 in march and april of that year. Today(5/23/03) I got a statement that says I still owe $250 plus a $70.11 finance charge.
I threw away my reciepts at the end of the year, so I don't have any proof, is there anything I can do, or is it by any chance a little late for him to be requesting payment? Two years is a long time!
