My boyfriend lent me $500.00 in July. It was a 5 month long distance relationship. I have a meager salary, he has ample funds. I spend $1500-2000 to travel back and forth, he send me $500 to help with expenses. On the memo of the check he wrote Loan til Dec. We have since broken up and he is demanding the $500 ASAP or he says he will call the police as I have't stood up to my end of the bargain? I never signed any kind of document.
DO I..........
a) Have to pay him back
b) Is it illegal to not pay him back
c) Can he legally do anything short of small claims court
