salem, oregon. lyle (my inlaw) was driving his suburban up the driveway and went through his garage door, hitting parts of the garage and house. he was finally stopped by large metal poles protruding from the concrete floor. he had his foot on the brake, but heard the gas throttle racing. he had it towed to capital chevrolet. he told them what happened and that the warranty should take care of it. they checked it out and said there were no defects. lyle paid the 3000+ to have them to fix the car. a short while later, it happened again. this time they almost killed someone at a stop light. they took the car to a different chevy dealer. the mechanic found the problem right away. the factory had not cut the carpet correctly, so when lyle braked, the gas pedal was being pressed by the carpet. they cut the carpet and lyle hasn't had problems since. lyly tried to get his money back from capital chevrolet, but they refuse, saying there was nothing wrong. lyle has written letters and spoken with corporate, but they refuse to reimburse him for expenses. they did, however, pay the other dealership for fixing the carpet. by doing that, they accepted that it was a warranty fix. any advice.
