I live in Cincinnati Ohio, it is here that i worked as an Independent Distributor for about one year. As of December i quit, with the company still oweing me $260. This is money i earned for my pay was on strictly commission. The company refused to give me my money due to my friend owing the owner of the business approximatly the same amount. They said to just have them pay me. What should I do? And is that legal?

It is not legal. Prove to them in a very firm letter that due to your services, they owe you these goods (money). If they refuse to pay you within 10 business days, you will pursue a claim for "good and services sold" through the courts. The important thing is to prove that they do indeed owe you the money. Document everything that has happend.... phone calls, letters.. things like that.
