What is the name of your state? California

I had my air conditioner replaced and the company that replaced it stated it has a 5-year warranty. The technician that installed it did not have either the warranty or an owners manual to give me. I have called them time and time again and I'm getting nowhere. I now do not trust this company. How do I know that there is a warranty at all? Aren't they required to give me the warranty?
