I received a Special Assessment request from our Homeowner's Association. The amount requested was not based on the collection procedure previously established.
I submitted payment based on the previously adopted procedure. On the payment check I included the wording, "Special Assessment - Paid in Full".
The Association secretary accepted and cashed my check.
Am I liable for the additional assessment the Association has decided to collect?
