What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Tennessee

I devorced my wife in 2006. Debt was closed in 2005. By my credit history the debt has been noted as a bad debt and loss (writeoff). I lived in a trailor and gave my part to her. I have a notorized statement saying she will take full responsibility of this loan.
Now I am getting mail and phone calls from a debt collector. Do I have any recourse of action? Please advise me of my legal rights. :)

The letter between you and your ex has no bearing on your responsibility for a debt in your name. One option is to pay the debt then sue your ex.
