On June 8, 2003, we were sold a timeshare in Cancun, Mexico.
Although we were told this would not be "pressure sales", there was quite a lot of pressure leading to the eventual agreement from us to purchase the timeshare. We said "no" repeatedly, however each time we said "no" another salesperson was brought in to further see how to get around our objections. After the third salesperson, with quite a bit of anxiety we eventually did say "yes". All the paperwork was signed. Within 48 hours, we called to see what it would take to cancel the deal, at which time we were told that, because the sale of our other timeshare (which was part of the deal) had already been executed, there was "no way" we could cancel the deal. We were told that if this were not the case, there may have been something we could have done to cancel.

On July 1, 2003, we received information in the mail from the organization doing the timeshare sale/transfer requesting us to complete paperwork, including documents to establish a
"Special Power of Attorney" in order for the transfer to be executed. When we received this information in the mail, it was clear we had been lied to regarding the sale of our other timeshare since the execution HAD NOT occurred.

We are currently in contact with the timeshare sales in Cancun, and they state there is no cancellation policy and no refund. They state "A legal and binding agreement has been signed, and you agreed by your signature of all terms and conditions stipulated."

My question is: do we have legal grounds for cancelling?
