What is the name of your state?GA

There was an item purchased about 7-8 years ago that a store is now trying to collect on. There has been no contact or attempt on their part to collect such debt. No payment has been made on this item within this time frame either. Am I still liable to pay for this item even though the store has not attempted to contact me on paying for the item? Either way, can someone steer me to the right legal paperwork to look at to investigate it?

Thanks for all future replies
