What is the name of your state? North Carolina

I have 7 months remaining on this rental contract. I rented a room for
daughter from my neighbor. She is living with the landlord's 2 kids, who
do not think the contract rules apply to them. Some of the rules broken are
Excessive noise after 11 PM, drinking alcohol on premises, nor more that 1 person
per room (the landlords daughter has her boyfriend staying overnight most of the time).

We have complained verbally and in writing about these things to no avail. My daugther
has even kept some logs and taken pictures to back up some of these things. The
landlords daughter has even told her that the rules don't apply to her, because
she is the landlord's daughter.

I finally moved my daughter out in frustration & wrote the landlord telling him
we want to end the lease. He is threatening legal action if we don't pay
until we find someone else to rent the room.

Can we break this lease?

**A: both parties have no clue. Hint: read the L/T law.
