Three weeks ago, I took delivery of a telescope that I ordered online and had delivered to me via UPS from Arizona to Virginia.

Upon setting up and testing the telescopes, I determined that it does not perform at all as advertised. Something is wrong with the mount and optics.

I contacted the dealer and asked him to accept a return. He refused, saying he doesn't allow returns.

I'm disputing the order with AMEX. However, they say there is little they can do if the seller won't accept a return.

Am I required to keep a $900 item that I received via mailorder that is no where near what it is advertised to be?
