hello.. i am in texas.. i was wondering.. i am being sued because i bought a car from some people.. they gave me the title.. no lein holder.. or actually they gave it to my husband.. and we traded it in.. now they are suing us for the car.. and trying to press charges on me for auto theft .. can they do this???:confused:

If you did not pay the fully agreed upon price for the vehicle, they have the right to sue and will most likely win. Just because you were given possession of the title does not end your oblgation to pay for the vehicle. You had permission to have the vehicle, you cannot be charged with auto theft.
