california--My son purchased a pickup on his 18th birthday.
The seller claims he wrote a receipt that the car was unoperable and he didn't need to smog it. My son lost the receipt so we don't know if he did. The car was registered in Calif. at the time of sale. It is registered to my son now. He will need to smog at the time he needs to resell it, or reregister it.
The selling price was $3700.00 The smog estimate is 4200.00.
We are planning to go to small claims.
Is the seller responsible?
