I live in Texas. Ok, i'm 15, i'm in drivers ed and i'm supposed to get a permit soon. I need my original social security card...My parents cant find it anywhere. I know the number and we can prove its my number through tax forms and such..Which, for some mysterious reason, they won't take.. Whatever happened to your social security number being a private number between you and the U.S. government?? It seems like everyplace you go to get something you need, they get your number. They certainly asked for enough information already...Why do they need the original card?
