Recieved a free trial offer from AT&T wireless in Jan 2001.
Got the phone and tried the service from 24 Jan - Feb 8, returned the phone because of poor reception and non-service in parts of the city. Returned the phone and recieved my deposit back. End of story? No way, got bills from AT&T for 2 months of partial service and startup fee. Wrote back to them about their free offer. Recieved collection agency letter in June, wrote to them and they revised the bill to show only 2 months of partial service with no startup fee. We are talking peanuts here, only $24.84 but the whole idea that AT&T can not honor their offer and that they turn me over to a collection agency.
