California, back in june my wife and I bought a timeshare we give some money on the spot part of the down payment and a postdated check for the other part, which was gonna be cashed when escrow closed. is been three months since and the check has not been cashed so we decide to called the place to find out what was going on; to our surprise they reply with a totally different name, we asked what happen to Epic resorts the receptionist said that they bought the lease from them but that she didn't know anything else; we asked for the person that we closed the deal with and ,to add to our surprise, she said that he will be in until 5 pm. all of this sounded very bad to us so yesterday we stop payment on the postdated check. was this right? are we gonna get in some kind of legal trouble? what can we do?
