i hired a pro tree cutter to remove a tree in my yard. spent weeks discussing the job and nailing down the scheduling logistics. the first day they also cut a second very large, healthy, mature tree without my permission (removing this 2nd tree most likely made the removal of the wood easier). the notion of removing this 2nd tree was discussed briefly in a what-if/worst case scenario and then dismissed. it was never added to the work order that I approved and signed and i was definitely not expecting it to be cut down. any advice as to how should i proceed would be greatly appreciated.

Did the worst case scenario happen? Why did they remove it? Did you talk to the pro tree cutter and ask?

the 'worst case' was that our cantankerous neighbor would not give permission to use their driveway and that did NOT happen (the neighbor did give written consent and their drive was used). i am calling the company today and just wanted to have a better idea of how to proceed.... that was one heck of a speedy response btw!
