I had my oil changed at a quick lube after a 1000 miles on the oil change the oil filter fell off quick lube says they are not liable because I had a dealer install the motor instead of them.Could I take this to small claims?

1: What US state?
2: Did you give the quick lube place a change to examine the car and attempt to rectify the situation?
