What is the name of your state? none

I was watching the tv show "Busom Buddies" dismorning and something occured that I was curious on an actual/real life legalities.

The two main characters Kip and Henry work for a small advertising firm and were hired by a library to produce a commercial. After the first rehearsal, with three dancers (which included Sonny, Kip's blonde girlfriend), the person in charge of the library's commercial showed up with another girl and said she would be the new "library girl". Kip, Henry and their boss said to the librarian that in their contact they are in charge of casting. The librarian said if his girl is not in commercial, there is no commercial. Kip and Henry's boss Ruth told them Sonny was fired and said "boys thats business".

Ruth was worried over losing the contract, but is it legal for the libarian to replace actress if the commercial company has power of casting? Could'nt this be called breach of contract since "Kip" said they had right on casting.
