I just bought a used Toyota from a non-Toyota dealer in Maryland. I was issued only one key. The car is equipped with a security feature (an engine immobilizer system) that only allows the vehicle to be started with a special key. The "special" key will cost $85 from a Toyota dealer. Can I get the dealer to pay for the extra key?

does it state anywhere on the sales contract you were to recieve 2 keys?

If not then you got what you paid for.

I guess from now on you will read a contract BEFORE you sign it.
