a few months ago, my stepfather purchased 3 brand new trucks, each valued at $37-$40,000, from two different car lots. it is unclear what he listed as his income on the application, but he was not working at the time and had absolutely no income. however, he was recently killed in a car accident and my mother now has no way to pay for these trucks. at the time of his death, he had made no payments on any of the vehicles, and one has since been reposessed. is there any way for my mom to get out of these contracts since her name was not on any of the contracts and she has power of attorney over the estate?
