What is the name of your state?Kentucky

I hired a caterer (contract stated from 5:45-10:45pm) to cater my wedding reception with heavy orderves and they broked down after only an hour of food service (at 8:30pm). Additionally, I specified I wanted the food offered on trays. This was not done. The result was a ton of food leftover and hungry guests. Since the bill was $2500 (for an hour's food service?), I feel robbed. When I asked them about this, they said that they typically break down food before the wedding cake is served. But since I did not hire them to attend to the cake, I viewed the two as completely seperate services. Is there anything I can do? Is their something that protects the client from this type of breach of contract? Is this a breach of contract?

Any info appreciated.
