We purchased a 1987 Ford Bronco II from a friend. The deal was we would pay him $350.00 over time. He had offered to give us the title upfront, but we told him to hang on to it until the truck was paid off, just incase something happened. The truck was paid off last week. He didnt give us a title, he said he had 'lost' it. Instead we were given a Florida application for registration/title. On this form a leinholders name was scratched out. We called the Tax collecter and found out there is a vaild lien on the truck. The man we bought it from said he would clear it up since he paid off the lien, and it should have been lifted by now. A week has gone by and this man has done nothing. We deciphered the name on the form we were given and contacted the man that holds the lien. He says he still is owed $1400 from the man that we purchased the truck from. We do have a bill of sale stating the truck is ours, but we have no title. We asked for our $350.00 back, but its not going to happen. We have put at least $200.00 worth of parts into the truck. What should I do? We would be happy with either our money back and they take the truck, or for the lien to be paid off and us given the title.
