What is the name of your state? pa

An artist/boyfriend took photographs of me.
I want the negatives back because of the content.
I never signed a contract or made an agreement.
Do I have to wait until he publishes them before I can take legal action?

I'm not an attorney. I just sat for a bar exam. I will be taking the bar exam in a second state. This is not legal advice.

But, I would urge you to see an attorney. There might be privacy laws on point that might protect you. If your friend publishes these, it seems like you might suffer greater harm than you already are suffering. A judge may be able to grant an injunction (a special type of court order which requires your friend to take certain actions listed in the court order) in your favor so as to prevent the publication of these photographs and to order the return of the negatives to you.

Good luck.
