I have a cable contract for basis cable with a large company. They installed four lines. I have two underage 13 and 15 year old sons. I found out that they can get numerous channels in that are X rated. I called the company and they said it happens all the time....they offered to put an adult block on it next week...but they are aware that this happens and they never checked it when installing...if this is a common problem, and why didn;t they install the adult blocker if it is so common, The damage of innocence is done...playboy or victoria secret is what I was always worried about...now they were subjuected to this filth...can I sue the company?

How can they get the channels if you only subscribe to basic cable?

If, as I suspect, your kids are hacking the system, for lack of a better word, to get at the porn channels, why should the cable company have any reason to know that ahead of time? If you were so worried about any adult content, why didn't you discuss this with the cable company BEFORE it happened? It seems that now that they've been notified, they are taking the necessary precautions.

The damage of innocence is done...playboy or victoria secret is what I was always worried about...now they were subjuected to this filth...
I hate to break it to you, but I was a 15 (and 13) year old boy once myself -- this isn't the first time they've been "subjuected to this filth." That happened a long time ago!

can I sue the company?
For what? What damages have you suffered? How was the cable compnay negligent?
