What is the name of your state? CO

Hi, recently I decided to start my own little business online. Now, I am online 16, but my parents are going to take care of most of that, hopefully. I am going to be creating and selling handbags and jewelry online. I have seen fabric being sold online and in stores used on handbags and being sold online. My quetion: If I use the same fabric as someone else who already is using it on handbags they are selling, can I get in trouble? Is their any copyright law on that?

Thanks for your time,
Avalon
