I was wondering, since court transcripts are Public Records, and that they're public domain since they have been produced by government employees in the course of their employment, does it mean also that the lawyers who have pleaded in these court proceedings may not claim copyright for everything that has been transcribed? (Such as Opening Statements, closing statements, etc.)

(by the way, what are the courts under federal jurisdiction?)What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
