What is the name of your state? PA

If someone is trying to sue me for copyright infringement - would it be County or Federal court? the amount would be $1600.00

I didn't receive the summons yet - just a threat - not sure if it is serious or not - the person threatening me is in CA

Watch it -- if the copyright was on file witht the Copyright Office at the time of your infringement, the copyright holder can also get attorneys fees in Federal court.

So it would be a federal case - not in a county court house?

If you know the person's address, write an apology letter. If you really did do this and caused that amount in damages, pay up rather than court, because then you'll have a record and be out a hell of a lot more money.
