Can anyone tell me if my friend's website is committing copyright infringement by copying sales letter portions of Net2Bed? If so, what could happen to him?

You can look at the two and see he used the same CCS and word for word headings.

Yes, but it's up to net2bed's owner to pursue this.

and he'll probably just receive a cease and desist letter and he should do so and that will probably be all.

Well a c&d to him and most likely N2B will send a NOCI to the internet provider and get it knocked down.
