What is the name of your state? John, California
Let's say this huge / worldwide known company, owns software to train
their employees with.
Then, there's this little, unknown company which is involved in the
same type of bussiness but has nothing to do with the big company.
The little company decides to "borrow" the training software from the
big company without permission and creates about several copies to use
for their company to train their employees with, then returns the
originals to the big company unnoticed.
No illegal actions were committed to gain access / return the
originals to the big company, but the originals were taken without
permission.
Now, the reproduced software has the little company's company logo on
them and remain at the little companies facility.
The training software informs the user of the copyright law in big
letters
and mentions that the big company can raise some hell if they find out
about illegal reproduction of their software.
Is there a way to make the little company pay for their illegal
actions and if so, what needs to be done?
Thx for all the info
