Hello,

I am currently running a site where we work to display all the events in the area. For example, if a club has a dj night on it's website, we then copy this event onto our website along with comedy events, live music, poker nights, quiz nights etc in a top-town calendar format.

As these are publicly advertised events, are there any legal implications of not always asking permission? Would there be any implications regarding copying a paragraph description onto our site also?

Thanks for your help!

Facts cannot be subject to copyright. If MC Poopsalot is performing at the local box social, then that is a fact that can be conveyed to others. Now, something that can potentially be subject to copyright is any creativity regarding the layout of said facts and details.
