What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Is the legal Status of a raw material changes in terms of how the law see it to when the same material becomes a finished product ?

I hired a company to make an item out of wood , another client of the same company went and bought the wood for the company to do a job , the company people dissapeared and the client went and took all the wood including my finished product.
Does my finished product belongs to me because it was in finished form or it belongs to the other client because he bought the Raw material ?
thanks
I hope I am in the right forum

So, you hired somebody to create a work for you and you are wondering who owns the copyright to the work; is this correct?

What does your contract with them say?

Actually,
What I am trying to find out is :
The finished product that was taken , is it mine because it went form raw material to finished product or it belongs to the other client because he bought the raw materials ?

Thanks

How is this a trademark or copyright issue?

The answer was the stuff belongs to NEITHER of you. It neither is yours nor the other guy. Neither should have been able to take anything from the company absent them delivering it to you or a court action.

Of course with the "company" (was it indeed a company or just a person) missing and possibly assetless you may be without much recourse. Did you try contacting the guy in possession of the stuff? Maybe if you offered to pay for the raw material, he'd let you have the product.
