i am researching the best way to protect and license a test that i created. the test is original and is used for the measuring of cognitive impairment. this test differs dramatically than any other tests currently avaiable. do i copyright? can i patent? how do i go about obtaining licensing agreements for use of the test?

Copyright and license it out.

The test must have high validity to be used and that requires work.

Also, get yourself a decent marketing agent to work wioth you and the agent will know a good IP a lawyer to use.
