What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? I'M IN SOUTH CAROLINA, BUT I WILL BE SUBMITTING AN ONLINE MANUSCRIPT TO A PUBLISHER BASED IN MASSACHUSETTES..

MY CASE...

I AM PREPARING TO SUBMIT A (CHILDREN'S BOOK) MANUSCRIPT ONLINE THROUGH A PUBLISHER'S WEBSITE.. BUT THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT THE PROCESS THAT HAS ME UNEASY..

I FEEL ONCE IT'S SUBMITTED, IT'S THEIR'S AND NO LONGER MINE. FOR ALL I KNOW, THEY COULD REPLY SAYING THEY HAVE NO INTEREST IN THE MANUSCRIPT, BUT TURN AROUND AND PUBLISH IT (CUTTING ME OUT OF THE PROCESS).

AM I CRAZY, OR ARE THERE STEPS I NEED TO TAKE TO PROTECT MY WORK????
