i used to run a virtual airline based on us airways. a virtual airline is an online organization that hires pilots to fly certain routes in microsoft flight simulator. there are no costs involved, so it is entirely non-commercial. us airways shut our website down in september 2000 because we used their logo, name, typeface, and colors on our website. is it legal to use them for the name and basis of a non-commercial organization when the organization makes every attempt to demonstrate that it is a separate entity from the real airline? since the airline has just entered bankruptcy, are we now allowed to use these trademarks? this message is also posted in internet law.
