What is the name of your state?
Tennessee
What I would like to do
I would like to record Round Dance Teaches, music and instructional cues (voice of teacher) at Round Dance workshops and other places where Round Dance teaching occurs for my personal and exclusive use in practicing complex dance figures and sequences.
Context
The round dance teachers have mechanical licenses for the music they use and work from a cue sheet that tells them what to cue (tell the dancers what to do).
I recently found a discussion of a process that is available in Germany for getting permission to make such recordings from the GEMA [German Copyright Protection Organization]. The process involves calling or writing to GEMA requesting permission to make personal use recordings plus paying a fee DM 1.25 per person per day.
Questions
1) What organization would I need to contact to make the arrangements that appear to be available in Germany?
2) What are the fees for such permission in the USA, Tennessee.
