Teacher copying song off CD for autistic student?

Florida
I am a teacher working with students with autism and other severe disabilities in an elementary school. Am I allowed to make a copy of 1 song off a CD I have purchased for one of my students to take home to "practice" singing?

In a word, No.

But it is very likely that if you asked the rights holder, they would provide your school with several copies for that purpose.

If you purchased the CD, as long as you have made no copies of it whatsoever, you are completely allowed to lend and/or give the cd to the student.
