What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MI

Problem:
I am founding a team which is planned to be called the Yooper Troopers. The yoopers part is representing the region we operate in (Michigan's U.P.), and the trooper part is for assonance. As an imagery idea, we planned to have team shirts that resembled the body gear of the Star Wars Stormtroopers.
As a non-profit organization, is it legal to use this Intellectual Property in this manner?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Technically, you're probably violating things but I suspect this use is so far below the Lucas radar on these things.
