What is the name of your state? North Caroline

I have been creating picture slideshows with music and putting them on DVDs for personal use. I would love to take this to a business level, but I am unsure of the laws of using the music in them. Any information would be helpful. Thanks!

You would need to license the music. Look at Harry Fox Agency. What you are talking about is the mechanical rights to the works.
