We are a video production company located in Cincinnati, Ohio. We have produced a educational video for a local Hospital in Cincinnati. We have not delivered the final product yet and they have asked us to sign a waiver as they would like to try to sell the DVD program to other hospitals. We have not signed a contract, but feel we should receive some additional compensation if the program is sold to an outside party. We have partnered with them on the development, production and product design. We also produced the project at a discount. They would like to meet soon to discuss the waiver. We need to know what our rights are in this manner.

there was no contract signed. Our normal way of doing business is to get a signed contract. A contract was sent but never signed. We have recivied partial payment.

Then, at this point, you are saying that the project is a collaboration and they are saying it is a work-for-hire.
