Hi,
My question concerns work for hire. I am painting two small illustrations for an ex-employer.
One is a version of Santa and the other is an angel. I was asked to paint these to add to a set
of illustrations I had done for the company as an empolyee. I was asked to paint them in a similar
style. I was planning to hand them over this coming Tuesday along with an invoice granting the
company certain rights but maintaining authorship. Can this artwork be considered a contribution
to a collective work and therefore be considered work for hire? I would greatly appreciate any input.
