Apathetic Doctors

What is the name of your state? Arizona

What does one do when the Doctors he is seeing don't seem to want to do anything except to treat the symptoms? Changed Doctors several times, still the same thing. These people don't want to find the cause and fix it, they want to keep getting their office calls and handing out pills to treat the symptoms. What does someone have to do, to find a real Doctor?

Have you told your physician that you are concerned about the cause and not just the management of the symptoms?

Many patients are not satisfied if they don't receive a prescription each time they go to the doctor and balk at tests they consider unnecessary. Maybe your physician does not have a clear understanding that your primary concern is the cause of your symptoms and not symptom relief.

Ask your insurance company if you can get a second opinion and ask for a referral, or ask your physician for the same thing--a second opinion from a physician that your physician can suggest.

Just a note for reference--some physical conditions or illnesses are diagnosed from the patient's response to treatments and medications. There is always the possibililty that this applies to your situation, though I have no knowledge of your physical complaints.
