Asbestos

I'm in ca. How long does an asbestos claim generally take? my grandfather is dying from the effects of asbestos, and it has been over a year since my grandmother filed a claim with a lawyer?

Claims of this nature take numerous years. Check to see if there was a single complaint or if your grandfather was part of a litigant class. Class action cases normally take a lot longer to settle.

Question

Asbestos claim

in ca. many of the men my grandfather worked with who had or have asbestos poisoning have already filed and received settlements. my grandmother filed just last March, and her attorney keeps telling her it would generally take a year. what is a resonable amount of time to wait before contacting another lawyer for help? the person she generally speaks to is a legal aide.

Have her request a written update status report from the attorney.
