CpscWhat is the name of your state? Texas. I need to report a hazardous product to the Consumer Product Safety Commission that caused the death of a loved one. Can the person/company I voice a complaint about sue me or get back at me for doing so? Also, is the CPSC as diligent as they claim to be? |

| Kaydee Maybe one of the attorneys will answer soon; but, until then.... I believe you are safe from being sued for stating your concern to CPSC. If you believe this death was the result of an unsafe product's being made available to the public and you state yourself accordingly, then you are not making (in a permanent manner; ie. letter) a false statement that harms another person's good name or reputation (to do so would be libel). Is CPSC as diligent as they say they are? I have no idea. It is possible that similar or related complaints have been received. Your complaint states that someone lost his or her life because of the product. Hopefully, that would be sufficient to gain the attention of CPSC. Is there any reason a lawsuit for product liability or breach of warrant of merchantability is not being considered? Best wishes, EC
