What is the name of your state? Georgia

We reserved a rental truck about six weeks in advance as we were relocating from Philadelphia to Georgia. As we left for Georgia we observed that the power failed when we tried to accelerate. we tought this was happening because of the added weight from our Explore which was also being transported on a car carrier. The situation only became worst as the brakes failed several times. We exited and stopped in washington DC.about 12am.
we called the truck rental company. a tow truck arrived 1 1/2 hour later. The driver said he could not fix the truck and could not tow it because he was not told that we had a carrier with another vehicle attached. on the phone with the dispatcher, he responded that they had no way of knowing that the truck had mechanical problems because the previous driver did not report any.
we were appauled that they did not inspect the vehicle knowing we would be driving for 12 hours or more. We were told that we had to take the truck to the nearest repair shop in the morning b'cause it was late, they could not help us. We followed the tow driver to maryland to a hotel near their repair shop. My husband drve the truck to the shop in the morning. The mechanic told him that the truck was leaking break fluids and the cylinders were damaged and the truck engine had no power. They arranged for another truck and help my husband reload the other truck. there were many other problems caused by their obvious neglegence. they reinbursed us the hotel fees an 20% of the cost of the one way rental. How dare they risk our lives, cause inconveniences and problems and get to decide what the damage is? How can we send a message to these people that they are risking peoples lives when they put them in vehicles that are not inspected?

Q: How can we send a message to these people that they are risking peoples lives when they put them in vehicles that are not inspected?

A: Write them a strongly-worded letter.

That is such a great statement in our overly litigous society.
Glad to see common sense has not failed all.

To the OP: I don't mean to brush your situation aside but there were no injuries (thank <place appropriate word here>), they paid for your hotel and gave you a discount.
