Delay causes damage

I am from the state of Alabama. I have a grievience against a contact lens and eye glasses company.
I got my eyes tested and ordered for conatcts as my power had increased. This was in the month of January. My friend had also come along with me for his contacts. He received his contacts immedeatly, but i was told that mine would take a week as they had to be custom made.
Keep in mind that i had glasses that werent the correct power required. Despite my calling them repeatedly, going over to the place almost once in every two days, i was not given my contacts for the next 2 months. Their excuses ranging from....the clerk not ordering them properly....to the doctor having specified only one contact and not two as would be needed for both my left and right eye.
All through i carried on despite the headaches due to the wrong powered lenses. I have finally gotten my lenses but now it seems like my power has increased. I still cant see as clearly as before and it all seems like a waste of money and my time. It might have also caused my eyes to get worse due to their delay in giving me my contacts.
I want to know if i can sue them for this negligience.
I would be grateful if someone could help me out.
Thanking you
Karthik

My opinion is--no basis for a claim of negligence. You were not restricted from cancelling your order, demanding a refund, taking your prescription to another 'store', or from seeing another contact lens provider.
